Run a giveaway people trust
The best giveaways are transparent. Announce the entry rules in advance, close entries at a stated time, draw on camera, and publish the winner with a link to the result. Entrants forgive not winning; they do not forgive a draw that feels hidden.
Paste your entrants into the entries box, one per line. Add *2 or *3 for bonus entries. With Remove winner on, you can draw first, second and third place in order.
Checklist before you draw
- Write the rules: eligibility, dates, how to enter, prize, how the winner is chosen
- Remove duplicate entries unless extra entries are part of the rules (use the Remove duplicates button)
- Check each winner meets the rules before announcing them
- Choose a backup winner in case someone does not respond
- Keep a record: the result link, a screenshot or a recording
Result record
After each spin, open "View permanent result record." It lists the entries, the winner and the time. Share it with your audience. It is a transparency aid and not a legal proof, because anyone can edit a link. For high-value prizes, also record your draw on video.
Know the rules
Read our plain-English giveaway rules guide and your platform's promotion guidelines. This tool is not legal advice.
Step-by-step: pick a giveaway winner from comments or entries
- Collect entrants from your platform or form.
- Copy the names into the entries box, one per line.
- Remove duplicates unless extra entries are allowed.
- Add bonus entries with weights, if your rules allow them.
- Spin live, then verify the winner against your rules.
- Share the result record link when you announce the winner.
Share your method to build trust
Followers trust giveaways more when the method is clear. Say how the winner is chosen, for example: "We paste all valid entrants into a random wheel that uses a cryptographic random number generator, and draw live." Link to the how it works page so anyone can read the details. Record the draw and keep the video as evidence.
Never promise results the tool cannot guarantee. Do not claim a draw is "certified" or "audited" unless a third party has actually done that.
Handle common situations
- Winner does not respond: wait the period stated in your rules, then draw the backup.
- Disqualified winner: explain why, then draw again and record the new draw.
- Complaints about fairness: share the entry list and the result record, with the entrant's privacy in mind.
- Several prizes: turn on Remove winner after each spin and draw in order.
- International entrants: check if your prize and rules allow them.
Protect entrant privacy
Use usernames rather than real names when possible, and avoid publishing personal contact details. The result record page includes the entry list in the link, so remove any private information before you share it.
