About this wheel
Icebreakers help people relax, which improves discussion, collaboration and learning. The best ones are quick, low-pressure and easy to answer without needing to share anything private.
This wheel offers ten such questions. Remove winner is on by default so each question is only asked once during a session.
How to use it
- Pick a time limit, for example 30 seconds per person.
- Spin once and use the question for everyone, or spin for each person individually.
- Go around the room, or use the name wheel to choose who answers first.
- Allow a "pass".
- Thank everyone and move into the agenda.
Ways to customise it
- Make a remote team version with questions about home setups
- Make a student version that fits the subject you are teaching
- Add team values as questions, such as "Describe a time you helped a colleague"
- Create separate wheels for new teams and long-standing teams
Tips
Choose questions that anyone can answer without special knowledge or sharing something sensitive. Avoid questions about family, health, money or religion in mixed groups.
Model the answer. If the facilitator answers first with a short, honest reply, others follow.
